I’m so excited to be finally sharing what was one my favorite engagement shoots I’ve ever photographed!

Celeste and Blake had the best idea ever for their engagement session! Both of them of work in the parks and rec industry and they met outdoors. So to tie in their love for the outdoors they had the genius idea to do a camping themed engagement session in Raleigh’s Umstead State Park! 

They both wore their cozy matching flannels, rocked some hiking boots, pitched a tent, and built a camp fire. To make their engagement session even cuter they brought their camping buddy Yukon, who was seriously the most adorable dog ever! These two have amazing chemistry that can’t but help reveal itself in the photos! I absolutely love how their engagement session turned out!

I always feel lucky to have this job as a photographer. I'm constantly getting to work with amazing people, and has quickly become my favorite part of the job is getting to meet these amazing couples. Alaina & David fall under the category as "amazing people", even though they had me drive all the way out to Charlotte from Raleigh haha. I had an incredibly fun time exploring Uptown Charlotte and Noda with them! I felt like I was photographing some friends rather than working a job during their e-session!! Thanks for the fun adventure and I hope your wedding in Wisconsin is absolutely incredible!! 

While on Alaina & David's engagement session we were exploring NoDa, which is the popular art district that is located right outside of downtown Charlotte. While on our exploration we discovered this awesome shiny backdrop. 

I love working with perspective. Finding interesting angles is something I always strive for during my photo shoots. 

Finding this old warehouse near Noda, the art district in Charlotte might of been the score of the day for Alaina & David's engagement session. Love how these abandoned warehouses create some of the most beautiful photos. 

One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is getting to hear the engagement stories from each couple. Alaina & David had quite the story. You could say David put on quite a show for his proposal. To prepare for his proposal he had to light over 100 candles that he was going to surprise Alaina with. Alaina walked into the apartment and was greeted with a blaring fire alarm and David, friends, and family trying to fan out all the smoke from all those candles. Through it all David still got down on one knee to ask Alaina to marry him, and she said yes!

Alaina & David met each otehr at the University of Wisconsin, so they couldn't resist to take a few photos in their Badgers gear.

This epic skyline engagement photo was captured in downtown Charlotte's beautiful Romare Bearden Park.
